Jason Bartlett Hits the Wire with Twin Oaks Tess For the second consecutive Sunday afternoon, Twin Oaks Tess took the Filly and Mare feature at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway. A wrapped up winner last Sunday, the classy mare found it a little bit tougher this week. Assigned post eight, Twin Oaks Tess went to the front end again but had to work hard to get there. The fractions were fast and after a half mile in :56.2, driver Jason Bartlett kept the 3-5 favorite rolling. Though she tired a bit late, Twin Oaks Tess had enough to record the front running win, her second straight at the Spa and her fourth already in 2010. The winner’s share of the $15,500 purse moved the Scott Blackler trained mare’s career bankroll over $200,000. Last year’s Filly and Mare Pacer of the Year at Saratoga Hidden Touch (Brian Cross) finished second while Princess Michi (Mike Micallef) earned the show spot.
Live racing resumes at Saratoga on Friday night with a first post of 7:05pm followed by a Saturday doubleheader and a Sunday matinee. Daytime racing begins at 12:45pm.
